A Merman’s Choice by Alice Renaud

It can sometimes be difficult to find books that you are interested in without them being featured on a bestsellers list. One successful method is by finding new novels and authors by word of mouth or through networking. I was fortunate enough to come across Alice Rebaud novel A Merman’s Choice for others unfamiliar with her work to check them out.

Alice was born and brought up in Brittany, Western France, her father was from France and her mother was from Wales, United Kingdom. Alice had moved to London, United Kingdom, in 1997, where she currently lives with her husband and son, working full-time as a compliance specialist in a pharmaceutical company.

Renaud has been writing since the age pf fourteen and got quite a few short stories published in the United Kingdom magazines, before moving to longer fiction. She wrote three contemporary romance books but didn’t find a publisher for them. Then, she realized that mermen, sea witches and water demons were a lot more fun than sheikhs and billionaires!

Her first two paranormal romances did not find a publisher either, then she wrote A Merman’s Choice, which was accepted for publication this year by Black Velvet Seductions. It is the first book in a fantasy romance trilogy inspired by the landscapes and legends of Brittany and Wales.

Personal Thoughts

I have always loved the lore behind merfolk, as the fable of The Little Mermaid is a favorite from my childhood. Alice Renaud as placed a modern twist on the familiar creatures that live in the depths beneath the surface. For any mermaid fan I would recommend checking this book out.

Burned it!

  1. I have already ordered my copy of Merman’s Choice. This will be the first book I read in 2019. I can’t wait to meet Yann ❤️. I think I’ll find a little bit of everything in this book. Humor, action, suspense, romance. Bravo Alice!

  2. Alice gave me a review copy of A Merman’s Choice and I promptly bought it for myself when it became available. I enjoyed it very much! I’m not usually one for fantasy (sorry!), but I will be looking for the next book in the trilogy!
