The Star Tarot

Gothic Bite Magazine

In the Pagan culture many wear a pentagram or star pendants to represent the five elements, making a connection between the wearer and the elements found in nature.

Many use it as a focus to find how nature influences and reflects their lifestyles. This Star Spread helps the reader gain insight into a problem or issue they are facing but also reflects Mother Nature.

Star Spread

To create a pentagram with the cards the first card representing the reader is in the center with the remaining five surrounding it. The remaining five are in the upper right, lower right, lower left, upper left, and above the center card.

Mermaids in Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire

Luna was the first to introduce me to the realm of Harry Potter. I was sold on the idea of possessing magic and even more excited of the existence of a school for wizards. During middle school I was beginning to lose my sight and had lost interest in reading, so having a book Luna and I enjoyed helped me find a new love for reading. Despite the series being set in a fantasy realm the scenery come from inspirations from London, England.

The setting for Never Enough, Tarpon Springs, inspires Isabella every day as she works within the community. Gossip, food, and family dysfunction color her daily events and form the basis for the Markos Mystery series.

One of the largest Greek-American communities in the United States, Tarpon Springs never fails to provide interesting fodder for Isabella’s next manuscript. Afharisto!, thank you, in Greeklish.

Krampus Poem

Gothic Bite Magazine

A monthly poem written by our poet, Luna Nyx Frost. Sadly, due to personal malfunction it was not shared last month but instead, this January.

I, Alexa Wayne, am terribly sorry for the late publishing of this exquisite poem.

December = Krampus

Many associate December with Christmas, remembering writing lists to Santa Clause and doing what we could to stay on the nice list.

Gruss vom Krampus
Gruss vom Krampus

Many people either forget or have no idea of another holiday entity named Krampus, who brings fear to those on the naughty list — appearing in a demonic form to punish those who have done wrong.

KRAMPUS

Lured to homes filled with rotten children,
I wait for the witching hour to strike.
Knowing that no parent will prevent
my twisted form of corporal punishment.
The results, a good child for old Saint Nick
or a lost soul to the Underworld.

Jonathan Young and The Nightmare Before Christmas

Gothic Bite Magazine

Happy Holidays Biters! With 2018 marking the 25th anniversary of The Nightmare Before Christmas I wanted to give you a small look into my music library and introduce you to a cover artist by the name of Jonathan Young.

Cover Artist and a Good One

Jonathan Young is a YouTuber based out of Southern California known mostly for his covers of Walt Disney songs in a pop-punk and power metal style.

With his first upload going way back in the summer of 2013 reached him 76,275 views and got him 2.6k subscribers, Jonathan now sits at just over a million subscribers. Yes, me being one of them. In October of 2014, I found his channel when he did a cover of Danny Elfman‘s This is Halloween.

I didn’t care for his rendition of Elfman‘s memorable opening number for The Nightmare Before Christmas. The video featured enough strobe…

Moonmaiden Gothic Clothing

Gothic Bite Magazine

My name is Sarah Spooffeeee here from Moonmaiden Gothic Clothing! Along with my husband Michael, we are running Moonmaiden, and for fifteen years kept it spooky.

It’s a crazy business and much hard work, but I wouldn’t be without Moonmaiden, as she was and is still consistently consistent and we love her very much!

Creating Moonmaider

I love creating wonderful new spooofffeeee — it’s like spooky, but spookier! designs it’s almost a compulsion, and I sleep, eat, drink and dream the business; which is why I think it’s lasted so long. Also, we have great fun doing videos for the site, which you can check out on our Youtube Channel.

There’s a lot more competition out there now, but we’ve never been mass-produced, and we continually update, so we’re always that little bit different, set apart from when people rip us off; but we know who you are, mwahaha…

Dragons of History

The Druid of the Moonland

We have seen dragons in many cultures and taking many forms. There are many looks to them and many origins as well. Within the fantasy lore, one dragon appearance is seen quite often and is recognizable.

Its appearance has become timeless and crossed from folklore to literature to movies and inspire centuries of artists from many fields.

Dragon’s Fly

In Celtic mythology, dragons come in two different shapes. We have the more commonly known with wings and four legs. Then, we have the sea dragon which looks more like a sea serpent. However, it does remain in the dragon family of the Celtic mythology.

Dragon 04

Pokémon Fan

Every kid that grew up in the 1990s holds some nostalgia for the things they loved during that time. For me it was Saturday morning cartoons. I had just gotten into anime after watching sailor Moon and was intrigued by the idea behind Pokémon. Pokémon featured portal pocket monsters that a trainer could hunt and collect to battle against Pokémon. The series is still running strong with new characters, songs, and challenges for the characters to endure.
