Mermaids in Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire

Luna was the first to introduce me to the realm of Harry Potter. I was sold on the idea of possessing magic and even more excited of the existence of a school for wizards. During middle school I was beginning to lose my sight and had lost interest in reading, so having a book Luna and I enjoyed helped me find a new love for reading. Despite the series being set in a fantasy realm the scenery come from inspirations from London, England.

The True Origins of The Little Mermaid by Hans Christian Anderson

Those that know me will tell you about my love for merfolk despite them being nothing more than a fisherman’s tale. In Rosenberg Castle Gardens in Copenhagen, Denmark there is a statue of what the little mermaid would look like if she was real. The Little Mermaid, by Hans Christian Anderson, was released in 1836. The story tells the story of a young princess willing to sacrifice everything in pursuit of true love.

Disney’s The Little Mermaid Review

I have always been a fan of merfolk marveling in the wonderous idea of living in a land under the sea. Many people question the existence of mermaids, yet scientists have only explored a small portion of our oceans, so it’s possible that marine life resembling merfolk can exist beneath the waves.

Mermaids: Real or Fiction?

When Disney created the film The Little Mermaid (1989), many young girls dreamed of having a tail instead of legs and living in the underwater world. There are more to their aquatic hybrids than being showcased as a fun Disney character. These creatures had their own underwater society and laws that are different from the human world.
