In ancient Greece Thebes was nicknamed the city of thieves being home to the shady characters of the ancient world. Many heroes went to the city hoping to make a name for themselves. It’s no surprise that many of the town believed in a God that was the trickster and messenger of the Gods named Hermes. This winged shoe God was prayed to by travelers and by those that considered themselves to be thieves.
In modern literature, centaurs are guardians or creatures gifted with strength, astronomy, and healing. Some deceptions portray centaurs more human with animalistic tendencies or act like wild savage monsters. Yet they contain the same physical traits of an entity that has the upper body of a human and the lower body and legs of a horse.
I have always been fascinated by dragons, with their intimidating stature, their massive wings, and the ability to breathe fire. Dragons are usually attracted to things that are shiny, especially gold, and can be seen hording it in their caves. They enjoy sleeping for long periods of time and are quickly enraged when disturbed from their slumber.
